Persephone: The Iron Queen

​This altar piece honors Persephone, the dual-natured Queen of the Underworld and the Maiden of Spring. Centered on the icon of the Pomegranate, it captures the pivotal moment of her sovereignty—the tasting of the seeds that bound her to the silent kingdom. In the Greek tradition, she is the Kore, the blooming life of the meadows, and simultaneously the formidable Despoina, the dread mistress who guides souls through the dark.

​The pomegranate serves as a symbol of the "blood of the earth," representing fertility, the inevitability of change, and the power found in the descent. This shrine is designed to anchor the energy of transition, honoring the cycles of life, death, and the indomitable strength of a queen who rules both the light and the shadows.

This altar is printed to order to reduce material waste and support a more mindful, earth considerate creation process. Printing only what is needed allows me to work more sustainably while giving each piece the time and attention it deserves.
Processing time is approximately 5 to 7 days. This includes design preparation, printing, finishing, and careful packaging to ensure your altar arrives safely.
